We've been building them for years and now have given it a name! The ElectroCat can be configured with any of the Catrike frames and your choice of 750W, or 1000W Bafang motors. The ElectroCat features 9-levels of pedal assist and a throttle and is available with one or two batteries.
The new ElectroCat features the BOX Four 8-speed 11-42T cassette that offers lower gearing than the 10-speed cassette that comes stock on Catrike models. If you're looking to ditch the derailleur, you can choose a Nuvinci N380 hub or a Shimano Alfine 8-speed hub. If you want something that has an even wider gear ratio than the BOX Four, you can upgrade to a Rohloff 14-speed internally geared hub.
ELECTRIC ASSIST
We've been installing the Bafang Mid-drive motors on Catrike models for a number of years now. You can choose between the 750 Watt or 1000 Watt options. Each motor comes with a throttle and 9 levels of pedal assist. These systems have brake sensors and gear sensor that will cut power to the motor while braking or shifting and the display will tell you things like MPH, average speed, max speed, trip distance and trip time.
If you need something that will just give you a little boost on your daily rides, the 750 Watt will be sufficient. For riders climbing hills or heavier riders, we recommend the 1000 Watt option. In our opinion, the 750 Watt is the sweet spot between price and performance and is the favorite of most riders.
The wide range cassette featured on the ElectroCat is paired with an 8-speed trigger shifter. Stock configuration is set up on the right side with the motor controls mounted on the left. If you need a different configuration, please email us to get in touch with a sales representative.
