Provo is a large city neighboring us in Springville, Utah. Do to having many people who come to visit us who aren't from the area or even from Utah we're always looking for fun things to do in the area. That's why we decided to make a fun and comprehensive list for you full of all of our favorite things to do in Provo, Utah.

From Provo Canyon to the Provo Farmers Market, Provo is full of many fun and exciting things to experience. So come with us and we'll dive into the exciting world that is Provo, Utah!

1. Provo Farmer's Market

If you are looking for fresh produce, delicious food, and unique arts and cants you’ve come to the right place. The Provo Farmers Market is a one stop shop for all of your needs whether it be picking up produce for the week or getting artisan goods it has it all. When the Provo Farmers Market comes it around it brings fun for the entire community

The Provo Farmers Market takes place at Pioneer Park at 500 West Center Street every Saturday June through October at 9am - 2pm. We definitely recommend planning a trip to the Provo area at a time where you could visit the Provo Farmers Market. You’ll be taken away by all the scrumptious and awesome vendors; it’s definitely worth checking out.

2. Provo Canyon

Provo Canyon extends from Orem to the west end of Heber City on the east. Over time Provo River has carved the canyon through erosion. Provo Canyon is also host to a wide variety of attractions including Sundance and Bridal Veil Falls. Sundance is know for it's skiing and the Sundance Film Festival that is held at the resort every year.

Bridal Veil Falls is a located a lot over three miles from the entrance of Provo Canyon. It is home to a beautiful 617 feet falls that is a must see for any Provo visitor. There are multiple parking lots near by so parking is not an issue. There are also picnic tables available so guests can have lunch when visiting.

3. Provo Temple

The Provo City Center Temple is a temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints and is located on University Avenue in Provo, Utah. The temple is built on the same sight as the former Provo Tabernacle. The temple utilizes much of the outer shell of the tabernacle as that was all that was left after a fire in December 2010.

While the temple is only open to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the grounds are open to everyone. The temple grounds are a great place to picnic and visit. During the warmer months the temple grounds are surrounded by beautiful flowers. A must see if you're visiting the Provo area.

4. Hike the Y

Hiking the Y is a must item on any Utah bucket list especially if looking for things to do in Provo. It is one of the most well known hikes in Utah. The distance of the hike is 1.1 miles to the top of the and 2.2 miles round trip. The difficulty level of this hike is regularly thought to be moderate. The duration of the hike ranges from 1 to 3 hours depending on your fitness level.

Directions: From 900 E in Provo, turn east (toward the mountains) on 820 North and follow it as it veers left and becomes Oakmont Lane. Take a right on Oak Cliff Drive and veer right. Take a right on Terrace Drive and a left to head into the “Y” Trailhead parking lot.

5. Bean Life Science Muesum

The Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum is natural history museum housed at BYU in Provo. When there visitors can expect to see insects, plants, reptiles, fish, shells, and birds. The museum is also free of charge making it the perfect activity for people looking for an affordable activity while visiting.

6. Provo Beach

Vacation for a day at Provo Beach! Provo Beach is a family fun center located in Provo, Utah. It's the perfect location for company and birthday parties! It's over 50,000 square feet of indoor fun! Provo Beach features a rope's course, arcade, bowling, flow rider, laser tag, carousel, mega playground, miniature croquet, and a toddler town.

They also have the option for you to purchase a $25 day pass that includes Laser Tag: Unlimited, Ropes Course: Unlimited, Bowling: Unlimited (shoe rental included), Croquet: Unlimited, Playground: Unlimited, and Carousel: Unlimited. The day pass also includes $5 Arcade Credit and the option to add on 1 hour of FlowRider for $10.

7. BYU Museum of Paleontology

Discover one of the largest dinosaur collections in the world at the BYU Museum of Paleontology. At the museum learn about the ancient life of Earth and about the different environments that have been on it. The museum has free admission for all and it is easy to access.

the Museum of Paleontology is open 9 am - 5pm Monday through Friday and there is parking in front of the museum. Note that the parking for the museum is shared with the La Velle Edwards Football Stadium so parking may be limited on days when there's football games

8. Utah Lake State Park

Utah Lake State Park is a state park located in Provo, Utah. The park is located at the west end of Provo Center Street on the the east shore of Utah Lake. Utah Lake State Park is located immediately northwest of the Provo Municipal Airport. All of the camp sites at the Utah Lake State Park include running water and electricity.

Utah Lake is Utah's largest freshwater lake at around roughly 148 sq miles. Utah Lake provides a whole host of fun activities that are sure to be lots of un for the whole family.

9. Provo Center Street and Downtown

Provo Center Street and downtown Provo is the hub of fun and good times for the people of Provo and the surrounding area. Here you'll find a wide variety of fun restaurants such as mexican, chinese, pizza, sub sandwiches, and more! After you've had your fill of food you may want to hit some of the fun activities that Provo has to offer. Some of these options are the Provo Dry Bar Comedy Club and Comedy Sportz.

10. The Provo Library

The Provo City Library is a public library serving residents in Provo and Orem in Utah. The library is in the former Brigham Young Academy and the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. The library host of fun activities through out the year for a variety of ages.
