Share your comments below: can I buy the mounts and hardware alone?? if so how much??? thx Posted by bpbby 02/01/2009 11:50:58 PM Yes, the swing forward mounting hardware kit with bottom stinger costs $375 and includes the rubber mounting bolts. Ashley, will this larger fairing offer more of an aerodynamic/speed advantage then the smaller version you sell? Or because it is larger will the weight of it cancel out any additional advantage over the smaller one? Looking to pick one up this Spring. Thanks. Bill Posted by Wisconsin 02/05/2009 04:29:17 AM For longer flats or downhill runs you will see an increase with the GX over the XT. If you have a lot of uphill runs the extra weight adds up. The GX has the advantage though of adding some weather protection and gives you a lot of places to mount stuff (mirrors, computer, bags, etc.). For pure all-around performance though, go with the lighter XT. I believe that the GX will add months to the riding season, but will it not take them off again in the high summer? How hot does it get under there in the baking sun? Posted by Liam 02/25/2009 08:25:01 PM Well, when you are moving a lot of air circulates, so it's not bad at all. Besides the fairing doesn't come up to your chest or anything. I live in Arizona, so heat is a major consideration. Do you look through it, or could it be painted to provide shade? Posted by Garry 05/26/2009 09:07:08 PM It is UV blocking already, but you can paint the inside with a plastic paint. I'm considering ordering this with a kmx typhoon, but I'm not sure if it will fit. The frame of the kmx is square, while all trikes shown with the fairing have circular frames, would this be much of an issue, and if so, is their a conceivable workaround? Posted by Sidney 12/11/2009 08:44:03 PM The clamps are large enough to go around the kmx tubing without any issues. Will the the system attach to an Expedition Catrike? Posted by Gil 01/01/2010 08:37:45 PM Yes. The GX mounting system is very adjustable and will fit the Expedition. How much heavier is this compared to the XT. And will it work with the speed. Posted by Marc 02/06/2010 07:05:31 PM With the mounting hardware this is about 4lbs heavier than the XT. It will mount on the Speed, but it will be high so you will be looking through it.
