TerraCycle has been making and incrimentally upgrading their idlers for years now. These idlers have proven themselves durable and functional while being the nicest idlers in the world cosmetically. We take great pride in the Elite idlers and have great confidence in their function as proven by thousands sold and giving day to day improvements in performance for so many makes and models of recumbents that have these upgraded idlers.

The Elite Return Idler is built to last for thousands of miles. We have not seen a worn out one yet! Constructed with a lightweight aluminum bearing carrier, industrial quality urethane bed to keep the chain moving smoothly and quietly. High impact ballistic nylon side plates keeps it light! Hybrid Ceramic bearing to keep everything rolling effortlessly.

The Elite Series Power side idler has beautifully machined aluminum side plates and now a pair of Ceramic Bearings (8mm only) which are machined to the tightest tolerances of any steel bearing readily available. Titaniuum cogs are standard on this idler since aluminum is now available on our 14/15 tooth Sport Series Idlers. This is the top of the line idler that you can get anywhere and outshines the competition by such a wide distance that the only idler even close to being as good is our own Sport idler, so we are really only competing with ourselves for idler quality.

If you are in need a superior Over/ Under Idler, then this is the product for you. No chain keepers or bolts, just the Over/ Under Idler with Titanium cog and Hybrid Ceramic Bearings. This is one of the nicest and most advanced idlers TerraCycle makes with beautifully machined aluminum side plates on the power side, with molded ballistic nylon outer plate on the return side and a custom machined polycarbonate center plate. All this adds up to serious bling and durability that no other over/under idler can even compete with. This idler in many configurations has been used on some of the most advanced racing recumbents ever built and was featured on the Rans RAAM 2009 team bikes (custom bearings -please see XStream/F5 kit). TerraCycle has been making this idler for years and have great confidence in its ability to function for performance and durability.
