Shimano 520 SPD Clipless Pedals
Dual-sided engagement, dual-sided tension adjustment. Cartridge-style chromoly axle. Weight (w/o cleats): 415g/pair. We highly recommend these pedals for safety and performance. With these pedals you will ride more efficiently, get a balanced push-pull lower body workout, and keep your feet safely off the road. Compatible with all trikes we currently sell. The Edge and Race come with these pedals included.
Share your comments below: Ok, I'm confused. Clipless pedals means that your foot is clipped to the pedal? If that's right, it's a really dumb name. Also, I can't see how your feet clip in. Posted by Ameroux 04/24/2010 04:41:05 PM Yes, the terminology is confusing. Clipless pedals refer to the lack of toe-clips which are the cages that hold your normal shoe. Actually, isn't it a "cleat" (rather than a "clip") that is attached to the bottom of the shoe? Toe-clip pedals do indeed use a cage (the toe-clip) and have strap(s) that tighten to hold your shoe to the pedal, and those came first. Later, when Shimano introduced SPD, the cleat-engaged pedals, the term "clipless" was used to distinguish the new pedals from the older toe-clip style. Thus there are really no "clips" associated with clipless pedals. Posted by bikenstock 06/08/2010 11:48:58 AM
