Wheel Kit: Rohloff Speedhub 14-Speed Hub

Price: Starting at $1399.95
This item is currently in stock!

Quantity:

Upgrade your trike with the Rohloff Speedhub 14-Speed Hub. This kit includes the Rohloff Speedhub 14-Speed Hub, custom Velocity Aeroheat 20-inch wheel, Schwalbe liner, Shifter, Clickbox shifter assembly, Torque arm and cables and hardware.

If you add a tire and tube to your order we will install them at no additional charge. When you order tell us which size you want and we will lace it up for you.

While the Rohloff Speedhub does have a 520% gear range it will not give you higher gearing than most of our stock 24 and 27 speed trikes. If you are looking for higher top gearing we recommend pairing the Rohloff hub with the 34T Schlumpf High Speed Drive. If you are looking for the best internal hub setup to replace your derailleurs we recommend running a single chainring in the front end.

The standard kit is the Bolt-on Rohloff with Click Box shifter assembly. This is easiest to install and fits most trikes that we sell with the least hassle. Standard Kit does not come with the Rohloff Chain Tensioner so you may need to add one if you plan on running it with a triple chainring and front derailleur.

Installation is free for local customers, otherwise be prepared to be creative when mounting the cable adjusters and Torque Arm.

The Rohloff Speedhub Internally Geared Rear Hub features 14 speeds for a 526% gear range.

Speedhub
14 speeds for 526% gear range
Even, 13.6% gear increments
Includes shifters and hardware
Gear range equivalent to standard mountain bike drivetrain
16t cog

The Torque Arm
The Rohloff kit comes with the clamp on attachment for the custom torque arm.

The Torque Arm
When you get the Edge with the the Rohloff Speedhub, we use a custom clamp for the Torque Arm instead of the pipe-clamp style support that comes with the Rohloff.

If you will be installing the Rohloff hub yourself make sure you figure out where you are going to mount the shift cables.

On the Edge you can mount the cable adjusters to the seat clamps. On other trikes you can also use the seat posts with some creativity.

The Rohloff SpeedHub comes with the Rohloff Chain Tensioner.

With the Rohloff Speedhub all the shifting is actually done in the hub. When you turn the shifter knob it pulls the appropriate cable on the hub. It is only when actualy changing gears that tension is applied to the cables.

Any issues with removing the rear wheel to fix a flat?

No, it is the same as removing most other wheels with the addition of removing the quick release on the cables and torque arm.
