Arthur's Custom Sun X3 SX

Get your own Sun X3 SX Delta Trike
When Arthur called and asked if we could make him a single-speed version of the X3, I suggested that one gear might not be enough. He explained that he didn't want to deal with derailleur issues, especially since it hung so low to the ground. So, I suggested we replace the stock gearing with an Alfine transmission. The result is fantastic. Great gear range, easy shifting, higher ground clearance, and we still have the rear brake.

Internal Hub
Arthur wanted something easy to shift, and ultra reliable on his trike, so we added a custom Shimano Alfine 8 transmission for smooth easy shifting.

Front Crank
To get the gear range we wanted with the new mid drive transmission, we used the smaller chain ring from the original crankset and simplified the chain line. Way better than a single speed, Arthur only has to shift the rear transmission. We trimmed and powder coated the crank arms black for a slimline look.

Safety
A rear view mirror is a must for any trike to see traffic and other riders.

Rear Brake
We were able to mount the Shimano Alfine Hub and leave the rear brake functional for better stopping power than just using the front caliper brake.

Hi, I am curious would it be possible to mount the BionX system on the X3-SX front wheel. It is quite small and I don't know what the minumums are.

I'm sure we could add the bionx. I would recommend setting it up as a middrive in order to take advantage of the power assist capabilities.
