Zoomer Horizontal Handlebar Upgrade Kit

Price: $45.95
This item is currently in stock!

Quantity:

If you are looking for an easy way to improve your Zoomer or Zoomer Elite this is it! Our kit increases steering leverage making slow-speed turning easier and high-speed handling safer.

The kit includes:
Two bar-end extensions
Two brake cables

The reason for the kit:
With direct steering the handlebars are connected directly to the kingpin. This makes for very responsive steering. The stock Zoomer/Elite handlebars are angled so that your hands are placed very close to the kingpin pivot axis. This means that you have very little leverage. It is for this reason that turning when stopped or slow-moving speeds is very difficult, and high-speed turning can seem twitchy. With the addition of the handlebar extensions leverage is increased dramatically. Slow-speed turning is now very simple and easy. There is much more control at high speed. As a side effect your hands are now moved into a horizontal position that gives you more room in the seat.

Note for the Zoomer Elite: This modification favors the grip shifters found on the standard Zoomer model. If you have a Zoomer Elite the position of its bar-end shifters may be awkward in relation to your hand position. Leaving the shifters in their current position is preferred so that they are not vulnerable to being hit on the side of the trike. The best option is to also swap the bar-end shifters for twist-style grips or trigger shifters.

Not only are the gear shifters farther away from the wheels, but the classic gear-shift angle makes it easy to see each gear number.

With the steering handles placed in the horizontal, steering will feel similar to other human powered vehicles.

Having a longer handlebar makes steering the zoomer easier than ever at any speed. The added control and stability is a bonus.

Having the gear shifters raised and angled towards the rider makes it easy to glance and see which gear you're in.

Because the steering is familiar to the classic old-school bikes, it doesn't take long to get used to this type of modification. And it looks cool too!
