Posted by Sal 08/08/2009 09:12:28 AM No way to mount a derailleur, but you can outfit it with more gears using a hub transmission. Can someone tell me how the comfort is on this recumbent...seriously wanting to purchase one. Thanks! Posted by Kanin 08/12/2009 05:27:52 AM The seat is very comfortable. I like the steering style, but it looks cheaply made, and it has only a single speed. A variation of this design could use a common single ring crank and an internal gear hub or 9speed r.d. Braking would be a little hairy from speed, but I have some ideas Posted by Mohdoggies 09/07/2009 06:17:31 PM This trike is a hoot. The steering mechanism is simple but extremely effective. Adding a transmission hub and some better brakes would make this trike crazy. Hey is this a trike where in order to brake/slow down I would just peddle backwards.. or is there a handle brake that I am just missing? Posted by Vladimere 09/21/2009 08:16:58 AM Yes, it has a pedal-backwards coaster brake. And another thing.. does this trike definitely not fit anyone over 6'1"... or is there a little bit of lee-way and say someone like me that is 6'4" will be able to make it work or is there not a chance? Posted by Vladimere 09/21/2009 08:32:48 AM I am 6'1" myself and can ride it. It is a lot of fun, but not comfortable enough that I would want to spend hours on. But i was wondering, since i am 6'4", would this not work at all for someone like me being the height that i am? or would short distances of travel be alright even for the extra height? the information above says up to 6'1", that means over that and you won't be comfortable or what? Posted by Vladimere 09/21/2009 02:10:57 PM You just have to bend your knees. Sure you could sit on it and ride. i 'am 4foot 8 inches is it comfortable for me can i reach the pedals?? am an adult female. ty Posted by parka 10/04/2009 03:46:38 PM Yes, the Fun Cycle would fit you well. Would it be possible to install a Rohloff high speed drive on the front? Could this bike handle the speed? Is it possible to install rear breaks? Posted by Crazy cycle person. 12/29/2009 09:23:20 PM A rohloff could be installed, but the funcycle is not designed for high speed. What are the handles for on the back? And does it only steer by leaning? How accurate is that? Posted by MityMark 03/26/2010 11:48:15 PM The handles are to help with the leaning. All the steering is done by leaning. This trike is made to be "fun" and not for commuting or touring. Once you learn to ride it you can maintain stability. At a KOA in Oregon we rented two of the 20" FUN Trikes for our 6 & 8 year old great grandkids. THEY HAD A HOOT!! Lickety-split, back & forth, skidding turns-on-a-dime, one end of the park to the other, they could not get enough. It was great just to watch. Great, great, safe, and highly recommended.
