Staff Review:
"The Catrike Road is a great trike for anyone that is considering the larger Expedition but is concerned about transporting the trike. The Road's 20-inch rear wheel and shorter wheelbase give this trike lower gearing (great for hill climbing) and make it easier to transport than its larger brother. The Road costs less too!" - Ashley

Thanks Guys, the Catrike Road is my first trike and it has been terrific. I wasn't sure about the seat angle, but it has been perfect for me. I took the headrest off because I never used it. It took me a couple weeks to get the handlebars adjusted perfectly, but the trike fits me like a glove now. I'm about ready for the Schlumpf drive. It's so easy to run in top gear all the time.

Does the Catrike Road come with velocity aeroheat wheels? The decsription you guys give are "Catrike black aluminum" wheels.

They are similar to the AeroHeat, but are an OEM rim sourced by Catrike.

When mounting a rear rack on the Catrike Road is there plenty of room for panniers or does the seat frame interfere? Do you have a picture that illustrates this? Thanks!

The rack works perfectly for hanging panniers. Take a look through our recently built trike pages and I believe we have some pictures there.

Is there much chain slap because of the length of chain or does the tensioner take it all up?

Chain slap has not been a big issue with any of our trikes. The rear derailleur tensions the chain appropriately.

does the 275 lb. total weight capacity change with the addition of a trailer?
Posted by jonesy

No. The weight capacity is not affected by the trailer weight.

I've had this ROAD bike for 2 years+use it almost everyday running my 5 Siberian Huskys.
It has gone thru spills, turn overs being dragged and it had held together and still rides fantastic. Love it! Would buy another one in a heartbeat. Especially if your dogs need to run. I live in Florida, so it's the Flordia version of the Ididarod.

Can a 26" wheel be fitted on the Catrike Road?
Posted by Jason
06/07/2010 04:20:58 AM

Yes, we have a 26-inch wheel option that works on the Road. Just look up "extension" in our catalog.

Thank you Ashley for the great answers. Your website is awesome. I'm going to purchase a trike from you guys soon.
