This is the coolest trike I've ever seen! Is there anything you can do to make it even lighter?

Yes, we are working on getting rid of all the chain tubing. Also, once your boom is sized you can cut the excess off which will save even more weight. You could cut and plug the top of the derailleur post. You could go with a lighter brake/rotor set. My guess is you could shave another 1-2 pounds off depending on your sizing and how involved you wanted to get.

This may be a really dumb question to anyone who knows anything about trikes. But, coming from the world of Road bikes I wonder: Why not use the brake/shift lever (SRAM Red) shifting system used on road bikes?

Mainly because the brake levers would mount where the shifters are.

The specs shown here say "headrest included".
(But it is not shown in the pictures included here.) Is the headrest and mounting bracket
included in the trike weight of 30.5 lbs, or would this be additional weight?

It is included in the weight and does come with the trike.

Is there any plans to build this into a road bike? I am sure that I am one of many that have a bad back, need the support of the recumbent system, but would like a more advanced product in a 2 wheeler.

I am in CT, saw and rode one of your bikes in CA., and I am very concerned about the low position and visability. On a two wheeler, your riding position would e higher with substantially more visability.

Check out the Catrike Musashi. It sounds like exactly what you want.
