Don's Super Quad

Because of the seat position we had to reengineer the steering. The best way to do this was to convert the handlebars so they move parallel to the Quad instead of in a circular manner.

We started with a cross support that will support the handlebars and the side rail supports. The handlebar pivots are somewhat elaborate as we had to get a certain amount of movement and leverage to go back to the main steering pivot.

The main pivot has arms that can pivot which allows the handlebar neutral position to be set forward or backwards.

The new steering easily goes lock-to-lock.

The handlebar pivots were machined with dual ball bearing supports. To get the movement we needed we had to use some custom ball-joints instead of the more traditional heim joints.

The rear rail support allows the rail to pivot some and adjusts the height.
