Marks Red QNT

Get your own

Mark called and said he needed a setup to work with the Borealis Velo shell. So, we set him up with a red QNT with some fast tires and high gearing. With the Schlumpf High Speed Drive up front and a modified Capeo in the rear, Mark has a gear range of 15-140 gear inches. At a 90rpm cadence that will put him at about 38mph!

Schlumpf High Speed Drive
About half the trikes we build go out with the Schlumpf HSD installed. This is the easiest way to expand your gearing. You get both lower low gears and higher high gears. The Schlumpf drive shifts easily by pushing the center button with your heal. Kick the right side in for overdrive, and the left side in for direct drive.

Eggbeater Pedals
The Eggbeater pedals are really starting to become popular with the trikers. They are extremely easy to clip into, and can be clipped in on all 4 sides.

Q Narrow Track
The QNT is the narrow version of the Q series. At just over 30 inches wide, the QNT can roll through pretty much any door. And, in this case, the QNT is required for the Borealis body.

ICE Steering Is Nice Steering
Here you can see a glimpse of the ICE tierod steering. The ICE steering is super smooth.

Capreo Gearing
The 20-inch version of the QNT comes with a custom modified Capreo cassette on a high-performance hub. The modified capreo has a 9-34T spread.

Rear Parking Brake
We installed a rear brake on this QNT and added a third brake handle to take full advantage of it. The rear lever is easily accessible when needed as a drag brake. There is also a parking brake button to lock it down.

Avid BB5
For the rear brake we mounted an Avid BB5 caliper with the Roundagon disc.

Swingarm Suspension
One of the main features of the 20-inch ICE trikes is the elastomer suspension. Fully adjustable for comfort.

SRAM X9 Rear Derailleur
The QNT comes stock with the SRAM X9 rear derailleur and shifter. We love the SRAM 1:1 actuation for its smooth and accurate shifting.

Schwalbe Marathon Supreme
The new Marathon Supremes feature a ceramic liner that makes a faster tire than the Racer with superb puncture resistance. The 1.6-inch width makes for a smooth ride too.

Quick Release Seat
The QNT seat comes off easily with the front and rear quick release levers. It makes loading the trike in your car very easy.
