Jon's Custom Expedition

Get your own Catrike Expedition (promo price)

We equipped Jon's Catrike Expedition with our favorite gearing combination. The Schlumpf High Speed Drive up front and the Shimano Alfine transmission in the rear.

Jon has the Garmin 705 GPS on his Expedition. The 705 has cadence monitoring and street maps.

The Catrike seat has built in storage fro the pump plus additional cargo pockets.

This Expedition has the Schlumpf High Speed Drive on the front. This single chainring gives the equivalent of a 27-tooth and 67.5-tooth sprocket. This trike is FAST!
You can also see here the SPD/Platform combo pedals and the cadence sensor.

Our custom hand-built includes a Mavic wheel and the Shimano Alfine transmission. To allow for easy boom adjustment we've also included the Alfine tensioner on this trike.

We combined the Alfine hub transmission with the NExus Revo shifter on the front. The Alfine can be shifted when you are stopped, coasting or pedaling. It is efficient, low maintenance, and smooth running.

The Schlumpf high speed drive shifts by kicking the button (located in the center of the crank) with your heel. When you kick the right side in you engage overdrive giving you the equivalent gear size of a 67.5T chainring. To engage direct drive just kick the left side in and now you are running the 27T chainring.
