David's GTO

Get your own Greenspeed GTO

The Greenspeed GTO is the ultimate touring trike. It splits apart in the middle with the S&S coupler and yet its super strong and designed to take a beating. This GTO has a modified drive train with our two favorite upgrades, the Schlumpf High Speed Drive and the Shimano Alfine hub transmission.

The main reason David choose to modify the GTO's stock drivetrain was to eliminate the rear derailleur that hangs so close to the ground. Instead, we replaced it with an Alfine tensioner (so he can still adjust his boom) which resides much higher than the stock Deore derailleur.

The Alfine transmission is Shimano's most efficient transmission yet. It has 8 speeds and shifts equally well at a standstill or under load.

The Schlumpf High Speed Drive is our favorite way to get a wide gear range! Easy to shift with the button in the middle of the cranks.

The Yellow seat contrasts against the red frame. I'm not sure why Greenspeed choose yellow, but it sure is visible.
