Steering Upgrade for Linkage Steering TerraTrikes

Price: $29.95

The one issue we keep hearing from customers is that their TerraTrike just doesn't turn sharp enough. Well, we solved the problem! And, it's an easy solution too.

Watch the Video!

Our steering upgrade works on all linkage steering TerraTrikes. This simple upgrade cuts the turning radius in half making your TerraTrike much more manueverable.

How it works:
Our steering extension plate attaches to the steering pivot arm and lengthens the throw of the tie-rods. This causes your wheels to turn sharper.

We have machined our plate to match the Ackerman compensation of the original TerraTrike setup. This reduces tire wear and improves handling.

Our kit includes:
QTY 1: Steering extension plate
QTY 2: Bolts
QTY 1: Installation instructions

PLEASE NOTE: Some TerraTrike models will require some modification to the right steering arm to take full advantage of this upgrade. If we are installing the kit for you we can perform the modification during installation, otherwise we recommend seeking the help of someone with grinding skills.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do. I had to enlarge the aft two holes to 5/16. I replaced the two bolts with slightly longer round headed bolts to ensure two threads show past the nylon on the locknut and to match the other hardware. As a steering realignment is necessary I recommend you remove the tie rod ends, clean off the dissimilar metal corrosion and apply some anti-seize lubricant upon reassembly.

Will this motification void the warranty of the frame. Also will it make the steering more sensitive.

Although it will not affect the frame structurally if done properly, I'm sure that TerraTrike would not cover the frame if damage occurred because of it. Any trike bought through us and modified by us will be covered through us.

This modification will make the steering more sensitive in that less hand motion is necessary to move the wheels. In other words, you do not have to move your hands as much to move the wheels a given amount.

Does this modification make the trike more 'twitchy' at high speeds or is it relatively the same. (35 mph +)

It does make the steering a little more sensitive, but does not affect the high speed handling.
