Catrike Chain Tube Assembly
Share your comments below: Do the chain tube's have lot's of wear from friction? How often would a daily rider need to replace tube's? Posted by scott 07/31/2009 12:09:04 PM These are a Teflon tube, so there is very little wear, but there is some friction/drag. If you keep the tubes short and as straight as possible they will last a couple years at least. I haven't worn one out yet but my Expedition Catrike is still pretty new. I can say that the tubes are basically silent and produce no noticeable friction that would lend itself to inefficiency. It would be interesting to see a study of the efficiency loss when using idler pulleys as opposed to chain tubes. Posted by momule 09/08/2009 09:09:23 AM
